Jewellery making instructions
Making Jewellery with Beads and Elastic

Shirring elastic and elasticated cord are great for making simple necklaces, bracelets,
anklets or even rings. You can use any beads that will fit the elastic. If you are using
shirring elastic cut the elastic the length required plus a few inches. Tie a bead on the
end to stop beads sliding off as you work. If you are using beads with small holes you
will need to thread the elastic onto a needle. This can be done by first threading a loop
of sewing thread through the needle eye (see below), now put the elastic through the
loop of thread and pull it through the eye. Elasticated cord is even easier as it does not
require a needle. String desired beads onto the elastic. When you are done, tie the two
ends together. Now place a tiny drop of glue on the knot (I use clear nail polish) when
the glue is dry cut off the extra thread. Or use a crimp bead to hold the ends together
